Firesmart Coordinator – Ukanagan Simmelkamine Regional Province

RDOS is currently a full -time recruitment Firesmart coordinator To join the protection services team. Firesmart coordinator supports and develops and implement Firesmart activities in accordance with provinces and RDOs guidance in the designated electoral areas within the region.
Main responsibilities
- The development, implementation and improvement of Firesmart programs such as Firesmartbc Wildfire leads to mitigation and Firesmart community recognition programs throughout the regional region.
- The regional boycott and financing partnership in Firesmart municipalities are led by coordinating requests for the investment program in society’s flexibility and other financing opportunities.
- It monitors and evaluates the delivery and effectiveness of the flexibility plans in RDOS.
- According to RDOS policies and consultation with financing employees, contracts and grants are coordinated for mitigation of forest fires including all purchasing and compliance requirements, ensuring contractors’ fulfillment of submitted projects.
- It solves routine problems and escalating problems of non -compliance with the manager of contractual or operational palaces.
- Public awareness campaigns including preparing and presenting presentations on the RDOS prevention / Firesmart BC Wildfire Fire Program, Firesmart BC Wildfire, and the community recognition program in Firesmart for community groups, partners and elected officials according to directives.
- It helps in planning, logistical services, presentations of workshops, events and training courses sponsored by Firesmart.
- Looking and providing recommendations for RDOS Firesmart action plans.
- In coordination with telecommunications employees, RDOS Firesmart updates and social media updates support.
- Provides advice on emerging issues, trends and best practices in preventing and mitigating wild fires and works as a supplier of Firesmart information in a variety of meetings and presentations with partners and other interested parties.
- It cooperates with partners and other public sector agencies to achieve the RDOS Firesmart goals and provides inputs in firefighting and mitigation in Okanagan-Similkameen.
- The meetings with the South Okanagan-Similkameen Wildfire Group coordinating the consultative consultant (SOWAG), which was established to assist local authorities and land managers in developing and developing a strategic direction for prevention and mitigation activities of South Oqcan-Kanagan.
- It produces complex correspondence, reports, contracts, agreements, notes, advertisements, public notifications, newsletters, press releases, publications, media interviews, and data tables that are likely to be within short time frames.
Qualifications:
- A certificate from the Related Related Secondary School Foundation, completed with courses in firefighting and mitigating this, and the preparedness of the emergency and Firesmart program.
- Certificate of allocating huge fires.
- The minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related position. A mixture of education and experience can be considered.
- Excellent and verbal communication skills with experience in preparing and presenting public offers and working effectively with a variety of partners.
- Computer skills at Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) showed.
- Strong organizational skills and planning.
- The ability to create and maintain effective business relations with the Board of Directors and committees and a variety of internal and external partners.

- The ability to prepare contracts and requests for proposals/quotes.

- The ability to support accurate documents and efficiency related to balance and reports.
- The ability to work flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- The first aid certificate is valid.
- A valid driving license with experience in clouds.
This temporary position is fully included in the BCGEU bargaining unit. Hour wage for this position is $ 37.40, benefits and pensions.
