About the role
We are looking for a home employee (O & G) to join the obstetric and gynecology department here at Hawke Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial to start in January and/or July 2026.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience across a variety of clinical settings. Including acute generation and gynecology, as well as opportunities in women’s outpatient clinics, operations theater, emergency department, and early pregnancy clinic. This wide experience will allow you to develop a good skill group in obstetrics and gynecology.

About the team/ service/ site
The successful candidate will join a team of 8 officers at home, and will have full support from 7 specialized consultants and work closely with 8 registered.

Our hospital supports about 2000 births annually and features a special care unit of 2+. Join our team and play a role in forming women’s health, in addition, you will have the opportunity to sit to get a Diploma of O & G, which enhances your experience in gynecology. This is an opportunity to develop both professional and personality while contributing to the health and welfare of women in our region.

Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400 -bed general hospital in Hastings, with a population of more than 180,000 people. We provide acute and optional care through a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, and more. Although we do not provide cardiac surgery and neurological surgery, we are supported by the strong regional intensive intensive intensive care unit team, and a comprehensive sponsorship of diverse patients.

About you

  • You are a resident medical employee (RMO) PGY3, although we will also look at PGY2s requests for the second half of the training year
  • You are registered or qualified for public registration, with New Zealand Medical Council
