As documented several times in Nace Survey Research, less than half of the students already visit the job center, although people who find professional services are very useful. Some do not realize the existence of these services. Others do not know that they are free. For students online or part -time, it may be completely easy to miss.

Many universities have started making functional management a mandatory part of the basic approach. They presented vocational training courses for credit, and they incorporated job assessments in the training course program for the first year, or/or students asked to attend an appeal workshop before applying for internal training.

Besides this type of “requirements”, if you want more students to take advantage of job services, which makes them feel irrational as part of a comprehensive college experience can also be an effective strategy. As the new academic year continues, here are five ideas about ways to increase awareness:

1. Show your success stories

Students want more than just a diploma; They are looking for experience in the real world such as internal training and volunteerism. Instead of just saying “we can help”, prove it. Share statistics on the number of students who go to jobs or internal training thanks to your services.

Better, tell real stories and use social platforms to communicate on a larger scale. Shedding light on students who got their dreams training after the training resumption, or graduates who carried out major professional moves through communication events. Faces and stories of stick.

2. Launching the Professional Advice Program

It is normal for students to turn to friends first. So why not make these friends a professional intelligence? Training a team of student advisers to help CVs and interviews and search for work. They will not only give reliable advice, but their participation is spreading through social circles. Sometimes it is just knowing a person working in job services is sufficient to provoke curiosity.

3. Obtaining social

Do you want students to notice you? Meet them on Instagram and Tiktok. Spread consistent and original content that is connected and useful. Share fast job advice, success stories, or workshop looks behind the scenes. Best: Let students help create content. Giving them a voice keeps things new and attractive.

4. As one team with professors and librarians

If the students do not come to you, then move to where they are – in the classroom and in the library. Professors and library secretaries are reliable evidence, so make them your allies. Ask how job services can support their students, and cooperate in ways to introduce job resources into their tasks or programs. You can even participate in hosting social media campaigns or competitions to make things enjoyable and visible.

5. Connect students to graduates

Graduates are gold mines of wisdom and opportunity. Use your career center to fill that gap. Try speed guidance sessions as students get biography notes or fake interviews with graduates. Or hosting the popup-emerging route kiosks-or almost-with well-known graduates. A little creativity has a long way to make contacts feel easy and self.

Career services could be Launchpad students who did not know that they needed. The whole thing is about appearing as they are and make the value clear.
