Here at the University of Sheffield Halham, the role of the director of operational improvement is a new role, designed to lead the university’s operating improvement program, with the program taking from the current packing stage to full implementation and achieving benefits.

This role will work closely with the Executive Director of Operations and Temporary Director of Strategy and Transformation, in addition to other major roles within the executive group, including the chief financing employee and executive deans at the college.

The role holder will submit direct reports to the chief operational employee and manage the matrix for the program team as required.

We are looking for a person with great experience in the top leadership, with the ability to lead a large and high -level program in a period of complex change.

You will have experience to determine and advance large and complex transformational change programs to successful implementation and provide improved efficiency and productivity.

As a possible candidate, you will be a very cooperative leader with strong emotional intelligence, and a passion for supporting permanent cultural change. You will have a great experience in working with groups of stakeholders from different backgrounds and the ability to engage in alliances and their formation, as well as confidence in the challenge in line with our values, when needed.
