We are excited to invite applications for Senior technicians To support our welcome team and cooperation from the world’s leading researchers in Optical Electronic Research Center (Orc)Southampton University. With more than 300 employees and students, Orc is an international recognized center for advanced research, and has a real impact through manufacturing, communication technologies, augmented reality, health care, renewable energy, and environmental solutions.

About the role
As an important member of our team, you will play a major role in developing and producing advanced applications electronic devices such as quantum technologies, integrated optical sensors, and laser optics. You will support a wide range of manufacturing and description activities, and work alongside researchers in academic and industrial projects that aim to expand the scope of manufacturing operations for broader adoption. An essential part of this role will include a close cooperation with the industry to help translate our research into concrete innovations of the growing optical sector in the United Kingdom.

Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for operating and preserving modern manufacturing and description equipment, including super accuracy, polishing systems, cleaning room tools and material analysis tools. You will also have opportunities to contribute to advanced laser laboratories and other university facilities. Your interest in details and commitment to excellence will help us create high -performance visual components that enhance all of our research goals and commercial partnerships.

Who are we looking for
We welcome the candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds, and we are especially keen to hear individuals who are equivalent to eligible HND, degree, NVQ4Or the like, along with relevant experience. It is necessary for practical experience, in any of the following areas, is necessary: ​​laboratory work, manufacturing, manufacturing the cleaning room, or assembling components and visual systems.

We are looking for a person with an independent and cooperative work, who appreciate contributing to a supportive team environment. In this role, it will also help training and support researchers and doctoral students, so strong communication and guidance skills will be in addition.
