Power -over view: In this position, the person is responsible for managing a group of current financiers and government financiers with the cultivation of relations with new donors. By working within a team of five individuals, the person in this role will conduct Pros Egypt research, building and relationships with donors, communicating with the garden mission and programs by writing grants, touching email touch points, and personal and virtual visits. This role plays an important role in securing funding for the development of garden initiatives in the participation of society, conservation, education, and gardening.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing a group of approximately 30 – 35 institutional donor, working to secure gifts worth $ 25,000 or more.
  • Developing and maintaining the knowledge of the Chicago Botanical Park and its programs, to communicate the garden needs clearly and attractive to donors and prospects in the conversation, through presentations and writing.
  • Developing practical knowledge of federal and state financing priorities related to the garden; Understand charitable trends at the foundations of Chicago; And take advantage of this knowledge in donor reactions and determine the opportunities for financing.
  • Defining potential donors and the opportunities to grant government that are in line with current and upcoming park programs and projects.
  • Providing allocated supervision, including regular updates, personal communications and tours.
  • Responding to inquiries, ensuring that donors have meaningful links to their influence.
  • Cooperation with Program Leaders and Accounting Grants to develop and collect convincing suggestions, budgets, and other materials for priority financing opportunities.
  • Securing the required internal approvals and submitting proposals within the applicable final dates.
  • Record all donor sharing procedures and reports in the database system, currently Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Prepare detailed post -visit reports, seize results and visions, and register all the donor participation in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Evening events and/or the weekend required (as needed) to increase participation and support the development department.

Qualifications
Our perfect candidate will be the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in a relevant field (for example, English, press, non -profit management, and communications)
  • At least three years of experience in collecting institutional donations or five years in the roles that combine the management of relations and the development of content based on the deadline
  • Distinguished personal relationship skills, both oral and written, required
  • The ability to read, understand and explain software and organizational budgets
  • Advanced efficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • The ability to understand standards and data, measuring the program and interpreting them
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and final dates at the same time
  • Understanding partnerships with a focus on common goals and mutual benefits
  • Self -awareness, knowledge of the strengths and personal weakness; Adaptive mentality accepts comments
  • The ability to cooperate and manage group relations effectively during work within the specified final dates
  • The ability to be proactive, work independently, as well as work as a member of a team
  • Iffairs with donor databases, Raiser’s Edge NXT, preferred but not required
  • Infinitely with federal and state grant gates and operations, especially grants.
  • Interest in or knowing the fields of the garden program, especially gardening, agriculture, environmental education, preservation sciences, favorite but not required

Please note: This position requires a hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office (from Monday-Wednesday) with additional location as needed.

Physical demands:
Preparation of the office. Repeated sitting, standing, walking, bending, listening, speaking, and keyboard. Use of office equipment including computers, phones, copies and scanners. Some requirements for lifting, paying, or withdrawing items are less than 30 pounds. The ability to outdoor employees in a variety of weather conditions.
