Are you ready to form the future of operations and plan to comply with BC Hydro? We are looking for a collaborative professional to direct our program and planning (O & P) and influence clarity, consistency and confidence in how to meet the reliability of North America’s reliability of reliability (NERC) (MRS).


As part of the team of compulsory reliability standards within the office of the General Adviser and the Compliance Office, it will play a major role in translating organizational expectations into a process at the organization level. It will work through teams to enhance internal controls, support audit and investigations, and to enhance the culture of accountability and continuous improvement.


This role mixes the governance, guarantee, teaching stakeholders, and organizational participation. Your experience will be how to understand, implement and preserve O & P


What will you do?


* Interpretation of the criteria of O & P and advice business units on risks, controls and compliance expectations.


* BC Hydro is in communications with WECC and other organizational bodies; Building strong relationships with peer peers to stay compatible with organizational control trends.


* Monitor the emerging criteria for influence, leading internal reviews, and coordination of responses.


* Providing training and training to enhance organizational understanding and preparation.


* Defining opportunities to enhance governance, supervision and guarantee practices.


* Conducting guarantee activities, including compliance assessments, control/test reviews, contributing to strategic planning and implementing mitigation activities.


* Take advantage of technical knowledge and control experience to assess compliance, evidence and internal controls; Recommendation improvements to practices and tools.


* Review and support for evidence and documents; Prepare reports and direction analyzes for leadership.


* Cooperation with operations teams and planning to align technical practices with organizational requirements.


* Participate in investigations, accidents, contributing to compliance with, and make final compliance decisions.


* Preparing and assisting organizational files, including standards adoption assessments and accident reports.


What we are looking for: * A seasoned professional with deep knowledge of operating and planning the electrical network, including Nerc O & P or similar frameworks.


* A strategic thinker and a cooperative consultant who flourishes in multi -functional environments and organizational participation.


* A clear communication that can simplify complex standards and build confidence through various teams.


* A leader who has the ability to direct others, influence results, and provide results in complex environments.


Qualifications:


* University degree in a related field – or equivalent experience in compliance with compulsory reliability standards.


* More than 10 years in the manufacture of electrical facilities, with a large level of compliance.


* Registered, or qualified for immediate registration, as a professional engineer (P.NG) in the British Columbia province


* A thoughtful approach to compliance, which balances a technical vision with a strategic vision.


* Experiment to translating complex requirements into practical and implementable guidelines.


* A mentality based on curiosity, integrity and the ability to adapt.


* Introduction with maintenance, planning, actual time, plants and other activities related to the electrical network (origin).


* Registered professional engineer or similar certificates (one of the assets)


* Experience with governance frameworks such as NRC, EEI, Wecc (one of the assets).


* The condition of employment for this job is to maintain the Category 5 driving license: in a good position.

Definitions of the role of a flexible business model




The four types of roles we have determined the degree of flexibility that the employee can work from home based on the type of work they do. Flexibility for an individual position left for the manager for each situation and operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full time of the office if they prefer. All our roles require at least some time.

Resident – works mainly (4+ days per week) in the office.
