Post -PhD Researcher participant in the solid state modeling at Durham University

The role and management

The Department of Chemistry at Durham University is one of the best chemistry departments in the United Kingdom with a wonderful reputation for excellence in teaching, research and employing our students. In the 21st place in the reference 2021 in terms of the average class, the chemistry department is a prosperous environment for research as well as for career development.

Role

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for the next challenge? Do you have firmly, are you an ambitious researcher looking for the next challenge? Do you have a fixed background in molecular crystal modeling? Do you want to enhance your career in one of the leading universities in the United Kingdom in the field of research?

We are looking for a distinguished post -doctoral research partner to join a research project based in Professor Aurora G groups. Cruz-Kabiza and Professor John Evans. The project is part of the EPSRC’s funding program worth 7 million pounds, bringing together a team of researchers from Durham and Lies and Manchester universities in the formation of molecular solid solutions (MOSS).

Hard solutions are created when the Dopant atoms or ions are combined into the entrepreneurial structure of the host. Even in accurate quantities, this can significantly change the properties of crystals. Although solid solutions in minerals and inorganic substances are well -degree, little is known about the systems in which the host and diseases are small organic molecules (MOSS). There is tremendous potential for Utilisin G Moss to change and modify the properties of materials, such as melting, multi -shape, crystalline sizes, shapes and melting rates.

The general goal of the federation is to develop and apply advanced technologies in crystalline synthesis, description and modeling to study and generate a new algae understanding. These developments will have applications across multiple sectors, including drugs, agricultural chemicals and food industries.

There are multiple opportunities for cooperation, participating in network events and conducting research positions in this project.

You will have a PhD in physical sciences or a close field, and you will have a background in molecular crystal modeling. The main responsibilities are the development, testing and implementation of different modeling methodologies in a new workflow to predict the MOSS formation. The successful candidate will participate in the supervision of a PhD student during the position of the position and will have great opportunities for job development.
