The world of hard fuel facility at Queens Belfast University
Queens Belfast University creates a new solid fuel test facility within the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, funded by SEUPB as part of the Peaceplus program. We are looking for a very excited world to lead the development, operation and promotion of this unique facility. PostHolder will provide specialized experience in fuel description, combustion analysis, emissions control, support for a wide range of stakeholders including academic researchers, organizational authorities, industry partners, and community groups throughout Ireland.
The successful candidate will supervise the purchase, assignment and maintenance of modern devices (such as GC-MS, initial analysis, and price), and make sure that the facility meets the accreditation standards (UKAS/INA), and the development of protocols that responds to developing the needs of the regional and national development policy and the European Union. They will also play a major role in building partnerships with government, local authorities and fuel suppliers, which contributes to cross -border cooperation on air quality and sustainability.

About the person:
We are looking for an experienced world and motives and has a strong background in analytical chemistry, environmental sciences or relevant discipline. Candidates should hold a PhD and have practical experience in automated analysis, fuel description, combustion test, or emissions control.
A successful applicant will be able to assign, operate and interpret data from a set of analytical tools (such as GC-MS, calorial scales, initial analysis), and apply this experience to support high-quality testing services. They must prove an experience installed in project management, budgets, or establishments, as well as the ability to develop and maintain cooperation with academic, organizational, industrial and society partners.
The main skills include the powerful ability to solve problems, organizational skills and excellent communications, and the ability to train and support diverse users in the facility. Applicants must have a busy record in research outputs appropriate for their career.
It is desirable for candidates to bring additional experience in analytical techniques such as TGA, XRF or ash, as well as familiarity with accreditation (UKAS, INA) and fuel -related environmental standards. The experience in cooperation through the sector and the participation of stakeholders will be an advantage.

This is a 36 -month -old contract post. Fixed contracts of contracts are available for the first specified period, but in certain conditions it can be renewed or made permanent to provide financing.
