In line with the strategic vision of UFZ to develop multidisciplinary solutions and multidisciplinary animals for a sustainable future, we offer three international research fellowships that will be completed between August and 2025. The goal is to enhance fair cooperation with talented researchers from all over the world and synergy to enhance the innovative approach in the national interface. Zamat focuses on improving our understanding of planetary borders and developing sensitive solutions to the real world for land and sustainable water management in times of global changes, including climate and economic changes.

Fellowship goal
– Cooperation with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary team from scientists modeling from three research units in UFZ (“Smart Monitoring”, “Ecological Systems for the Future”, “Environment and Society”) and working on an innovative and innovative modeling project related to one or more of the topics mentioned below
– Drafting a paper during your stay as a first step towards a collaborative magazine publication
Promoting or starting long -term research partnerships between UFZ and groups in your home institution in the field of modeling and analysis of social systems

Possible project topics include
Advance the modeling of multi -functional landscapes in light of global changes
Improving the integration of the Earth’s user behavior in environmental social systems models
– Evaluating the social and environmental effects of policies on biological diversity, land pollution and water
Exploration of differentials and synergy between the sustainability goals related to the crisis of the triple planets- pollution, climate change, and the loss of biological diversity

Your profile
– A very enthusiastic researcher who has a PhD in Sustainability Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Earth Sciences, Computer Science or Related Specializations – of any nationality, with institutional affiliation outside Germany
-Strong competencies in modeling and environmental analysis (for example, the model-based modeling, system dynamics, improvement, association of models, or other relevant methods-we welcome various methodological curricula)
– A busy record of research and multidisciplinary publications with great interest in building long -term cooperative research networks and joint financing initiatives
Book and pronounced communication skills in English
