Deputy Dean at the International College Malta

Job title:

the Deputy Dean It helps to provide the higher academic leadership in Global College Malta, who is the deputy academic dean of the college.

The Deputy Dean provides daily management for all university education, learning and evaluation, in addition to managing all faculty members. They lead to ensuring an excellent student experience in the college and working closely with the academic registrar in matters of academic regulations, politics and procedures.

They provide their reports directly to the academic dean, and as appropriate, they provide support to senior operations officials in giving the strategic leadership to the college and ensuring academic excellence, operational efficiency, and long -term sustainability.

Main responsibilities:

  • Daily management of teaching, learning and evaluation in the college.

  • Work closely with the academic dean and academic registrar to support the college’s relationship with the main organizational bodies, including the Maltese and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA). This includes ensuring compliance with all academic activities in relation to any requirements determined by such authorities.
  • Leading and managing student experience, working in partnership with the chief operational employee in the college, to ensure an excellent experience for all students.
  • To cooperate with CO to ensure that academic priorities are completely in line with institutional resources, financial planning and operational frameworks.
  • Work closely with the academic registrar to ensure the smooth delivery of academic management and organizational compliance.
  • Merging and enhancing employment all over the college and its programs, and supporting students to graduate with knowledge, skills and competencies appropriate for their future professions.
  • Providing academic support for all college development initiatives and new business opportunities, including governor and partnership development. Contribute to the strategic planning of the college, as well as on the wider group initiatives.
  • Participate in the relevant college governance structures, which makes a special contribution to all matters related to academic rule.
  • Support the development of the college’s research and scholarship activities.
  • Promoting an activity of the college file and development at the national and international levels. Supporting students ’employment activity to contribute to the college’s growth and sustainability.

Academic and professional qualifications

Strong academic background:

A good degree of relevant discipline and driving record in teaching, research or professional practice.

Higher Education Experience:

Good knowledge of the policies and practices of Maltese and European higher education and a comprehensive understanding of the culture and governance of higher education.

Strategic vision:

The ability to formulate and implement the strategy, contribute to the college vision, and work effectively in a fast -motion organizational environment.
