Post -PhD Researcher participant in the physics of intense subject at Durham University
Role
A post -doctoral researcher participant is available to pursue experimental research in the complex magnetic field within the Group of Intensive Durham Physics. This position is related to a new two -year grant on “Advanced materials for the next generation of Spintronics: inevitable control of Altermagnets” funded by research and innovation in the United Kingdom (UKRI).
The research depends on our experience in understanding and predicting the new magnetic pairing plans in quantum materials. We use theoretical analyzes of crystalline and magnetic symmetry, which are experimentally characterized by simultaneous X -ray experiences and neutron that are being performed widely in national and international facilities. The postal holder will work directly with Dr. Roger Johnson and other members of his collection of research in the Department of Physics Research in Durham Intensive, Cooperation with colleagues at Warwick University, College University in London, and a Christmas feeling in the Source of Claus Radiation, Grenoble, France.
The latest discovery of Altermagnetism is a transformational leap in the potential application of anti -magnets in Spintronics. The aim of the research is to face the main scientific challenge before magnetic materials are exploited in future technologies. The challenge lies in finding new ways to control the anti -terrorist field by applying external fields that modify the basic crystals. The players are expected to present the initiative and creativity in this endeavor, as well as the appropriate skills and knowledge, required to work with Dr. Johnson and the collaborators to achieve the research goals.
These (1) include filming the magnetic changing fields through the X -ray x -rays of overlap, (2) The creation of new ways of the principles of the inevitable magnetic field with inevitable stress under relatively advanced stress, weakens the principles of democracy (3) of best practices to study advanced materials under applied stress. So it is expected that the post-experience and familiarity holder will enjoy the excitement techniques used in the facilities of Synchrotron X-Ray and/or neutrons in studying crystalline and magnetic structures, including the application on the site of the mono-axle strain to one large crystals.
