Are you enthusiastic about Britain in the early Middle Ages? Do you have an advanced knowledge of the Latin Middle Ages interested in analyzing the writing of Latin letters? If the answer is yes, you may be interested in this full -time full -time role.

The College of Humanities seeks to appoint a 36 -month post -PhD researcher to conduct a close analysis of writing Latin messages in Britain early in the Middle Ages. This position will require the collection, analysis and publication of data as part of a multi -person team, led by Dr. Robert Galgar (University of Kent) and Professor Francesca Tinte (Basque University UPV/EHU).

As a post -doctoral researcher, you can expect to participate in:

• Archive Research to identify the witnesses of manuscripts to authorized messages and send them to Britain in the early Middle Ages
• Language and literary features of Latin missionary texts
• The old analysis of the messages in the early Middle Ages forms
• Conducting research dealing with the project objectives and research questions

What will you bring to this role?

• PhD in Middle Ages, or its equivalent
• Advanced knowledge from Latin in the Middle Ages
• A clear knowledge of communication in the Middle Ages and literary cultures
• A good understanding of Britain’s history in the early Middle Ages and its neighbors
