Job title: An anthropologist underwater anthropologist

Location: Juneau, AK, – Silaska Heritage Institute

Summary of the job:

Submit a request to get your love for geo as an underwater anthropology trainee at the Silaska Institute of Heritage this summer! There is a lot that happens in our section; Your focus on creating an easy -to -use package will be, including poster, video clip, worksheets, and clear trends to use an obvious deposit unit. These tools will help members of society to collect sedimentary cores throughout Southeast Alaska to fill in unknown sea levels. Other funded research will provide exposure to copying and possibly translation (or working with translators) from interviews and/or recordings, helping to edit and grant reports to obtain research grants, and may help write a grant request, and the full set of research position.
The Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) mission is to perpetuate and enhance the cultures of Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian, which enhances cultural diversity and understanding between cultures. This internal training is within the Department of Culture and History, and it will work alongside the underwater anthropology for SHI to better understand the scene at the lower sea level in southeast Alaska.
This training will be held at the Silaska Heritage Institute office in Juno, AK. You can travel to the Southeast Alaska community as part of other continuous research.

Duties/responsibilities:

• With the help of team members, learn how to work the soil probe in the tidal area
• Documentation on how to use the soil probe
• Copy interviews and/or recordings, perhaps including translation or work with the language team for translation
• Performing other duties as appointed

The final project:

• Create a set of easy -to -use materials (printing and video) to teach community members how to collect the sediment nucleus

Skills/required capabilities:

• Preparing to work abroad in rainy conditions
Understand dirt/soil (academy or live)
• Experience in the tide area
• Cooperative with a team and work independently
• The ability to fulfill the final dates
• Written and strong communication skills
• He must be a shareholder in Silaska, a descendant of a shareholder, or a shareholder of a shareholder
• Entreprenened a law to work in the United States
• The ability to travel as needed

Education and Experience:

• He must be 18 years old at the time of rental
• You must be currently registered in the post-secondary school/program/or a modern graduate (1-2 years)

Favorite skills:

• Anthropological study, archeology, geology, Earth sciences, original studies, or the like
• Skills in editing video or graphic design
At least 2.5 GPA
• Skills of thinking and strong critical research
• Self -start with the ability to adapt to a fast -paced work environment
