VFRS employs more than 850 people, has 20 firefights, training site, and two fires offices. In addition to suppressing fires, VFRS provides pre -hospital care, vehicle rescue, maritime response, response to dangerous materials, technical rescue, and many other emergency services in Vancouver. We are working to create safe societies through public education for all ages, fire and inspection prevention services, and work closely with partner agencies and community groups.
