We invite the requests of a research colleague to join our welcome team and cooperation from the world’s leading researchers in Optical Electronic Research Center (Orc)Southampton University. With more than 300 employees and students, Orc is an international recognized center for extremist research, and has a real effect on optical, manufacturing, communication technologies, augmented reality, health care, renewable energy and environmental solutions.
About the role
As an important member of our team, you will play a major role in developing and producing advanced electronic devices for applications such as quantum technologies, integrated optical sensors, and laser optics. In this EPSRC project, it will lead a wide range of visual manufacturing and characterization activities, and works alongside researchers to develop the world’s lowest visual resonance in the world. An essential part of this role will include close cooperation with the Caltech Institute of Technology (Caltech) and visits between the treatment to push the project forward and translate our research into concrete innovations of the growing spare sector in the United Kingdom.
Your responsibilities
As part of the role, you will be asked to operate and preserve modern manufacturing and manufacturing equipment, communicate with our project partners in Caltech, develop innovative solutions, create new devices, copy the results in leading magazines, and investigate the possibility of marketing your outputs. Your interest in details and commitment to excellence will help us to create high -performance visual components that provide our research goals and commercial partnerships.
Who are we looking for
We are looking for a talented research colleague with skills and knowledge to complete our team. In this role, you will work with others to design and create glass layers through processes such as depositing the water decomposition of flames, different subtle communications, and optical fiber manufacturing techniques to form integrated resonance resonanceine in the world. This role will focus on manufacturing and material descriptions of new layers and glass components, wave guide design, visual descriptions, and integration with components at the level of the broader system to show potential applications for these devices.
Applications are encouraged from those who have a strong background in visual materials science, especially glass sciences, optical fibers and/or manufacture of a clean room, optics, lasers and light. We are looking for a self -motivated researcher with good experimental skills ready to conduct research independently and cooperatively, who appreciate contributing to a supportive team environment. It will also help in training and support researchers and doctoral students in this role, so strong communication and guidance skills will be plus. PhD or equivalent professional qualification is necessary.
