Assistant Researcher in Sleep Rehabilitation and Stroke at Oxford University

John Radcliffe Hospital, Hedington, Oxford, Ox3 9DU

Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Oxin Laxin group as a graduate researcher to conduct studies that achieve learning, motor learning and recovery in healthy adults and people with brain injury. We have previously demonstrated that people with brain injury, such as stroke, disrupted sleep, and that sleep quality relates to rehabilitation and recovery results. Sleep is necessary to unify learning, and thus we seek to explore how sleep changes over time with healing, how it comes to learning and monotheism, and testing new ways to interact with the sleep brain to enhance learning.

Postholder will help employ participants and collect data and analysis, as well as contribute to the general operation of the La Lawna Group. The role will include visiting participants in rehabilitation hospitals and in their homes, as well as sleep studies overnight in the laboratory.

EEG and ACTIGRAPY technologies and clinical/behavioral assessments will include healthy adults and people with brain injury. The previous knowledge of programs like Python, Matlab and/or R will be useful.

This role includes collecting data in university buildings and hospitals as well as in the homes of the participants. The role also requires data collection overnight in the sleep laboratory. Consequently, the possibilities of action/hybrid will be limited.

Please see the “job description” below for more details about the role, responsibilities and selection criteria, as well as more information about the university and how to apply.
