We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher assistant to join the International Center for Study (ISC) to study the education of civil and international citizenship (ICCS), a major global research program located here at Bath University.
About the role
In this role, it will be an integral part of a team that achieves how young people are ready to become citizens of societies all over the world.
It will contribute to a meaningful research that affects educational policy and practice in more than 25 countries.
The main responsibilities include:
- Conducting advanced quantitative analysis on international data groups on a large scale such as ICCS, using statistical technologies such as IRT and structural equation modeling (SEM) with programs including R, MPLUS and Python.
- Contributing to academic publications, from literature reviews and the development of research tools to formulating content for technical reports and papers reviewed by the peer.
- Supporting the project coordination for this international study on a large scale, which includes communication with collaborators and assistance in organizing expert and workshop meetings.
This is an excellent opportunity for the researcher early to develop specialized skills in data analysis widely and contribute to prominent international publications.
About you
Our perfect candidate will be excited to contribute to wide -ranging research in civil education and citizenship and will enjoy working cooperatively within a diverse international team.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant topic (for example, education, psychology, social sciences or statistics) or a master’s level qualification in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- A strong basis in the research methods of quantity and skills in advanced statistical analysis such as the theory of elements response (IRT) and the modeling of the structural equation (SEM).
- Practical experience analyzing international evaluations widely with statistical software packages such as R or MPLUS, Python or the like.
- The ability to manage your work burden effectively, work independently to fulfill the final dates, and to be a member of the supportive team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear information in writing and cooperating with a wide range of people.
- Experience or previous relevant work.

This is part -time (18.25 hours per week), the fixed center is expected to end on June 30, 2029.
