This new publication is available in part -time (0.6FTE) until May 31, 2026 in the fixed term, within the Agriculture and Environment Administration. We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and directed researcher for details to support the presentation of the “C4NGE” search project. This innovative publication funded by 0.6FTE is available from 01/10/2025 to 31/05/26. The successful applicant will conduct research on nutrition efficiency, take grazing and sheep behavior, and support the goals of the “CH4NGE strain” project in developing genetic selection tools to help English sheep farmers generate more productive and effective sheep with a carbon fingerprint naturally.

The main responsibilities will include:

• Help in preparing and monitoring the internal eating experience using manual registration systems
• Supporting primary grazing studies, including grazing management, pastures evaluation, weights and animal notes
• Collecting and managing accurate records for feed consumption, clouds and animal weight
• Coordination of logistical services for field work, including equipment and transportation preparation
• Ensuring compliance with moral standards
• Carry out a laboratory analysis for feed and pasture samples

It is necessary for this role:

• A certificate in animal, agriculture, biology, a similar or equivalent experience
• The experience of working with livestock, preferably sheep
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Experience with data collection and management
• Classified and pronounced communication skills are excellent
• The ability to work independently and as part of the team
• Good, self -motivated, capable of searching and direction when needed.
