About the situation:
The archives of Maine, a branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are seeking candidates for the position of II archives, within the archive services department. The responsibilities of this primary role include the involvement and treatment of paper and digital archiving groups, creating AIDS and catalog entries, and surveying archiving documents according to industry standards. The II processor will work with the old archiving groups that have not been processed, as well as with the newly transferred modern groups to the state archive. In addition, this role includes the deployment of historical materials online for public access and maintenance of ArchivessPace in accordance with descriptive standards. The II processor also evaluates and improves the storage of archival materials to ensure its proper preservation.
II archives are coordinated and overseeing the employees, contracting workers and trainees in the absence of the head of archive services. The work is carried out with limited supervision. The work schedule from Monday to Friday.
Min -Maine archives are seeking to make the historical records of the government of Maine over the reach of the public on a large scale. The mission of Maine state is to make government operations and local government more efficient, more effective and more economical by managing records by maintaining permanent historical records of the public and providing them with the public in our reservation.

In this role, it will:
- Archive and preserved archive and preservation groups after professional standards to ensure intellectual control in state records and public arrival.
- Management and preservation of arishivsspace and relevant databases, ensuring the consistency of descriptive data, discovery, and training of employees on best practices.
- Create and download descriptive records and data using controlled vocabulary and perform a compensatory description of old materials.
- Cooperation with archive and records teams on the schedules of retrospective and the acquisitions of the archive.
- Applying the topic experience for reference services for public and state agencies.
- Design and provide awareness initiatives to determine the priorities of the user experience, including research evidence, presentations and workshops.
- Record evaluation to join, Deaccession, and memorization needs, by applying appropriate memorization methods.
- Evaluating the requirements for confidentiality in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Participate in professional development to stay on borders with emerging archive practices and tools.
- Performing special projects to support the agency’s goals, developing and documenting complex project management plans, coordinating and leading team projects and working progress. Contributing effectively as a team member.
Preferences will be given to the candidates who have:
- Try to process archiving.
- Knowledge of federal laws and regulations and Maine related to government records, including acquisition, retaining, transparency and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of record management practices, including pre -emptive schedules, databases, policies and procedures.
- Knowing us and the history of history, the state government, and judicial development.
- Knowing best archive practices, including assembly management, descriptive data standards (DACS, ISAD (G), EAD), content descriptions, controlled vocabulary, and newly born digital records.
- Skill in scientific research methods using primary and secondary resources, public records, archive holdings, and electronic data rules.
- Knowing the basic memorization methods, environmental materials and risks that affect records, including the safe dealing of mold or other pollutants.
- Efficiency with ArchivessPace, Microsoft Office, HTML and archive software or other offices.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, explaining artistic concepts on the various masses, and reading the handwriting manuscript.
- The ability to raise up to 40 pounds, climb stairs, and work in dusty environments.
Minimum qualifications:
A group of six (6) years of education and training and/or professional experience in related archive services, information systems, electronic data storage management, advanced research methods and technologies.
