Potential students are invited to propose a subject of research to study for a doctorate in the fields of employee experience related to language linguistics. On a large scale, these areas include research that deals with:

• Dual language/multiple languages

• Gain the second language

• And/or the structure, meaning and use of language in linguistics, psychological and social linguistics, discourse analysis, psychology, sociology, language technology and education.

Supervision can also be held in conjunction with colleagues in Welsh, modern languages, translation, psychology and education.

PhD students in applied linguistics will be able to access our new laboratory for eye tracking and specialized programs, including subscriptions at Gorilla.sc and Qualtrics. Students will also become members of the Language Research Center – a multidisciplinary research center that includes language related research throughout the university.
