The Monetary Authority in Singapore (MAS) was appointed, the central bank in Singapore and the financing organizer, ABIGAIL NG as the new sustainability employee.

NG, who is currently chairing market policy and consumer management, from Gillian Tan, who has occupied the role of civil society organizations simultaneously with her position, assistant director of development and international, since October 2022. Tan will continue to lead the MAS development and international group.

Tan announced the transition in the LinkedIn post, saying that it was “a suitable time” to hand over the reins as the sustainability agenda in MAS enters “a more sophisticated and mature stage.

“When I put this second hat three years ago, I knew I had a lot to learn and that the road will be difficult, and it requires new thinking, innovative solutions and bold partnerships.”

Under the leadership of Tan, MAS launched the net of Net Zero Plan to fill the capital for the transfer of low -carbon Asia and Asia classification in Singapore to provide clarity in sustainable financial standards.

It also worked on initiatives such as the Transitional Credit Coalition and the transitional partnership in Asia (Fast-P) to accelerate the mixed financing of energy transmission in the region.

The organizer said in a statement that the appointment of the dedicated COO reflects the increasing maturity of the sustainability and the need for paleness focus, as Singapore puts itself as a pioneering green finance center.

The central bank said in the statement that NG’s experience in developing international policies and participation will be “useful” in the progress of the next stage of the sustainable financing strategy.

Before joining MAS, NG was a lawyer, working with legal service in Singapore as a public prosecutor.
