Director, private groups and archives in Boston, Massachusetts for the University of Boston
Boston University libraries are seeking the next director of private and archives that will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership to archive the library, rare book and technical property. As a leader who focuses on users and collaborators, you will lead to planning and implementing operations and evaluating groups to support instructions, education and communication programs and services. As a thinker for systems, improvements will be determined on the operation of the warehouse, and work closely with their peers to improve management and discover university holdings. Reports to the Assistant Secretary of the University Library for Academic Participation and Special Groups, will contribute to building a high -confident organizational culture, and working as a department leader in the Library Organization, participating and contributing to a wide range of discussions and strategic initiatives, and activity in university societies and professional societies to contribute to the profession and enhance best practices in private groups and feelings.
- You will be a strong manager, you will recruit, go and support a team of librarians, archive specialists, high trainees and student employees, who suffer from university archives, research services, treatment and assembly management, exhibitions, and participation.
- As an innovative leader, you will lead to provide participation programs including research services, reading room, reference services, research fields, increased education program, communication, exhibitions, public programs and have talent in harmonizing participation strategies with the campus and external partners, in compatibility with libraries and university priorities.
- It will bring a commitment to the relevant responsible assembly and supervision and will provide a file for the collection that matches the priorities of research and teaching at the university and supervising the policies and priorities of the acquisition, while ensuring compatibility with institutional teaching priorities and the ability of supervision.

- Master’s degree in library or archive studies.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowing the fixed work of archive and research support operations, through both printed and digital formats, including the requirements for rare material care
- Strong driving and communication skills.
