Context and mission
Barcelona SuperMating Center-Centro Nacional de SuperCOSIPUTACIO (BSC-CNS) is the pioneering center in Europe for high computing research. A successful candidate in the HPC environment will work very sophisticated, and will receive the latest systems and mathematical infrastructure, and create cooperation with experts and companies in various fields at local and international levels.
The digital health unit, led by Dr. Paula Petron, applies artificial intelligence to health care with the aim of providing innovative solutions that make a real impact to patients.
This position is part of AI’s cooperation in the Di Card Hospital Group in La Santa Crew Anna Saint Puau (Dr. Martin Descalazo and Matthias Kallerry). The goal is to develop artificial intelligence solutions in heart disease that provide health care and contribute to applications directed towards the product with the clinical impact in the real world. We encourage requests from all races and candidates from the active groups an imperfect representation.
Main duties
- Developing artificial intelligence models for heart disease, focusing on:
- Heart signal analysis using advanced signaling methods
- Medical images analysis in heart disease
- The integration of vital indicators in predictive models
- Deep learning application, transformers, constituent models, and methods of obstetric intelligence
- Cooperation with clinical researchers and cardiologists to participate in design and verify the health of artificial intelligence tools.
- Contribute to the development of ready -to -use applications for health care settings.
- Ensure that the models are strong, interpreted and clinically related.
- Publishing and publishing results in scientific forums and innovation.

- education
- Master’s degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, mathematics, physics, or related fields.
- Doctorate is welcome (plus), but is not required.
- Basic knowledge and professional experience
- Practical experience in deep learning is applied to biomedical data, with a focus on deep learning, transformers and basic models.
- A strong background in signaling, especially for biomedical signs such as heart data.
- Experience installed in medical images analysis, preferably in heart disease or related health care fields.
- Solid programming skills (Python or the like) and the use of deep learning libraries (Pytorch, Tensorflow).
- A strong interest in developing health care applications with a real clinical effect.
- Additional knowledge and professional experience
- The experience of collaborating with clinical partners or working on health care data groups is an advantage.
- It is advisable to know vital indicators or integration of multimedia data.
- Competencies
- Excellent skills solve problems and analytical.
- The ability to cooperate in multidisciplinary teams (engineers, doctors and researchers).
- Lack of English, Catalonian and Spanish.

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be made through the competitive examination system (“Concurso-Oposición”). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- Curricula analysis: evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information related to the situation. 40 points
- Interview stage: The highest -class candidates will be invited at the level of the curriculum to the interview, run by the corresponding administration and human resources. At this stage, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the situation will be evaluated, as well as the required personal competencies. – 60 points. At least 30 points of 60 should be obtained to be eligible for this position.
The employment committee will consist of at least three people, ensuring that women are represented at least 25 %.
According to the principles of OTM-R, a balanced gender employment plate is formed for each vacant function at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content content, the committee will start interviews, with at least one technical interview. At least, a personal questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the operation.
The committee will make a final decision, and all individuals who have participated in the interview will receive notes with details about accepting or rejecting their personal file.
