The legal team of the news group provides legal support for drivers, transactions and production for all news companies and newsrooms. The team is primarily at the Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Power -over view:

The lawyer will serve as news content and media lawyer for the news group, and provides advice to journalists regarding the first amendment, gathering news, and other legal issues.

Responsibilities:
• Advice to the leadership leadership and journalists who work through platforms including linear TV, broadcasting, digital, social and voice, to support daily news programming, urgent news, analysis, elections, investigative reports, documentaries, lifestyle, real crime, and unencrypted programming
• Prehening a broadcasting and broadcasting review before publishing
• Advice on news collection and access issues
• A copyright lawyer and other intellectual property
• Advice on threats and challenges before publishing and responding to them
• Responding to the summons notes and other third -party requests for information
Drafting and providing legal training for the newsroom
• Implementation and lawyer of the policies of the news group that protects our safety, our cost and independence
• Monitor legal developments that affect the press and freedom of expression
• Partner with lawyers specializing in the legal department in NBCunivesal, including reporting reporting
• Contributing to the culture of the comprehensive team, cooperation and creativity

Qualifications

Basic requirements:
• 4 years of legal experience, including experience in providing advice to news customers on the media and publishing law
• A passion for news and freedom of the press
• A high level of professional integrity and efficiency
• Exceptional writing skills, analytical skills and problem solving
• Member of a good position in the state bar in New York, or another government tape with registration as an internal advisor in New York
• Please efficiency in Spanish

This position is appointed as mixed, as it generally contributes from the office for a period of not less than four days a week.
