Within the framework of the Emmy-Nether Groups (Arctic International Wave Energetics, its mixing and interdependence with marine ice in changing climatic conditions, see https://www.awi.de/en/science/junior-groups/artemics.html For details), I am looking for a PhD student to investigate the internal waves created by wind in the Arctic and how this changes under the phenomenon of global warming. The comprehensive goal is to understand the basic consequences and develop the effect of the coat of the inner wave mixing in the Arctic. The approach is strongly inclined to numerical modeling, but it involves the theory of the inner wave as well as comparing the teacher against notes.
