Description

The Language and Linguistic Sciences Department seeks to appoint a part -time research trainee, which works on a part -time basis (6 hours a week, equivalent to about 0.16fte). This role is suitable for a person looking to complete the work or study part -time.

The successful applicant will join a firm project team that includes the University of York, Sydney University and the University of Macquari. This project, “As we talk: Revealing the changes in early speech in the context of the disease,” is the first articulated study of the older adults who suffer from speech (AOS), where MRI is used in actual time (RTMRI) to study how speech changes over time in this category of population. We are looking for a very motivated research trainee with experience in analyzing articulated data and excellent organizational skills that are interested in practicing a profession in speech research.

The headquarters of the research technician in the Speech Science Research Group will be in the Department of Language and Linguistic Sciences, and will participate in regular online meetings with the rest of the project team in Sydney, Australia.

The main responsibility of the mail owner will be to process MRI data in the actual and traditional time of the audio tracts, which the team gained in Sydney. Under the supervision of Dr. Amelia Jolie, they will develop methods of landmarks and divide the MRI data for further analysis. They are also expected to analyze their associated speech recordings and conduct basic analyzes, for example, extraction coordination measurements. They will work with Sydney collaborators to create and adhere to data management principles. They will have the opportunity to contribute to academic and non -academic outputs resulting from their work.

The necessary skills, experience and qualifications

  • Try and/or/or analysis of medical photography data, preferably magnetic resonance imaging

  • Experiment to perform speech analyzes for example

  • The work experience alone and as part of a team

  • Good personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
