Lang School Looking for a creative, emotional and professional therapist to support us twice (2E) students – Gifted students with learning differences Through a variety of grades, materials and clinical support areas.

We offer our very promising learners in grades from 1 to 12 strict and integrated education around the learner, with integrated support that enhances independence and self -defense.

We are looking for a reflector leader to work cooperatively with our school education teams, as well as with students, parents and external service providers.

  • Currently accredited and registered with the National Council for Certificates of Certificate in Vocational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Currently licensed and in a good position with the New York State Profession Office
  • CPR/AED current CPR/AED Certificate.
  • The experience of working with learners Neurodiverse.
  • It showed compatibility with our mission, basic social learning and executive performance programs – (it is recommended to experiment with CPS, PBI, CBT, DBT and Ost/OTMP but not required).

Main responsibilities

  • Monitoring and/or guidance and/or supervising students in taking sensory, movement and mind breaks outside the semester (but not in the sensory gym).
  • Cooperation with the support/school therapy team, faculty members at work with OT services and provide them 1: 1 and in small groups for school age students from 1-12 in a variety of school environments.
  • Make regular notes, collect/interpret data to determine the current development and cognitive needs of students and track growth and progress over time.
  • Cooperation with private teachers and teachers and officials to develop and implement accommodations, IEPS, and 504 plans.
  • Supporting faculty and students through support and training in implementing best practices for nervous learners, including strategies for students with exceptional times.
  • It determines proactively and working to solve academic, social, emotional and behavioral challenges through cooperation with faculty members, specialists and school leadership, with the ability to take the initiative to develop and implement various intervention plans.
  • Facilitate problems solving problems that focus on student and support classroom interventions, including communication behavior methods, positive behavioral support, and social and emotional learning.
  • Support the admission process by conducting students ’meetings or notes 1: 1 and submitting detailed notes to the admission team.
  • Leadership or leadership of weekly groups that support executive performance, emotional organization, and develop social skills.
  • Providing parental education, guidance, and cooperation to help families move in the needs of students learn and communicate with external services for evaluation or support.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records for student progress, OT sessions, curriculum amendments, and interventions.
  • Stay on boundaries with research on the nervous age, best practices, and evidence -based practices to support learners 2E.

  • Participate entirely in school meetings and class, vocational development opportunities, committees or additional tasks, according to the leadership request.
