EGU – Jobs – Post PhD – Geological chemistry, metal science or material science: carbon dioxide conversion to solid materials
Post -PhD colleague – geological, mineral science or subject science
partner2 Converting to solid materials: converting waste into new and valuable products
Denmark Technical University
We are developing a fast, cheap and environmentally friendly way for Mineralise2To make stable and useful products. We invite the enthusiastic applicants to join our team.
We build a disciplinary research set and contract Post -PhD or researcherWith experience in Geological chemistry, mineral science, material science, or othersWhich has experience in analyzing X -ray x -rays (for example, with polishing RIETVELD) and geochemical text calculations (such as PhREQC or a similar symbol).
We manage many projects in parallel, starting with the basic investigations of the characteristics of metal gases, by developing predictive models, new experimental methods and devices, to design a creative and effective company in terms of cost2 Hunting operations. The need is urgent, the task is difficult and a multidisciplinary approach is necessary – so our group consists of very enthusiastic scientists and engineers, including chemists, physicists, nanotechnologies, geology scientists, engineers and innovation experts. Our group includes members at all academic levels, from undergraduate students to experienced scholars and engineers.
Our goals are to develop a local method for Mineralision Co2To convert it into solid, as it will remain stable in the long run. Even with the best alternative energy sources and Co converting2 In the current products, Air and Ocean Co2 The levels will need 1000 to 10,000 years to return to pre -industrial levels. To reduce climate change and ocean acids, CO2 It should be converted into solid and placed on the ground, as it came in the first place.
Function
We expect your background to contribute to the characterization of materials and the mixture of solutions to the efforts of our cross -disciplinary team, which aims to understand solid reactions (water and gas) of natural materials and the effect of organic compounds on them. The team will merge data from traditional technologies with results from the latest high -precision and modeling tools on measures ranging from atoms to meters. Our goals are to obtain a new and new knowledge of how nature works and applies it in a reactor, to convert Co2 Solid materials are wasted to a valuable product for use in the new low Co2 Building materials and company formation.
Our expectations for you
We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic colleague who has an interest in nature, and enjoys solving problems and working together, to achieve projects goals. We expect you to get a doctoral degree and a strong background in the metal interaction of fluids, that is, an experience with X -rays of natural materials and modeling geyochemical species.
Flexibility is necessary. We are looking for a team player who can also work independently, which motivates him to help make a dynamic research environment, and has part of a positive, supportive and creative look. Good communication skills, personal interaction and English fluently necessary.
