A wonderful mix of hills and speed!
I can’t believe that it was only a week since then MADCITY 50K CitizensIt is already time to return to the Grand Pacific Assembly race with this Sunday race: Coastal Trail Runs’ Horseshoe 30K. This is the fifth event of our 2025 table, and the fourth of 6 in our SUB-Ultra Trail series. In 3 weeks, we have Quicksilver 100k, then Silverstate 50k, Cool Moon 100 Mile, SkyLine 50k, Tamalpa Headlands 50K (also serves USATF 50k Trail Minips). The next Amera race will be half Stevens Crick Steries (hint, it is also hills!).
It was cloudy in Cobino this morning, but this race begins in Skyline, a series of mountains of the nearby Santa Cruise Peninsula, so we were racing over the clouds. There were 3 races this Sunday: half a marathon, 5 Miller and this is 30 thousand, both of them. One outside and returns to half, then another to stay 5 miles remaining.
I got a great place to park out near the beginning, which allowed me to contact a few normal, elegant! With at least 70 at 30 thousand, integration with half of the marathon, we started as if we were a hundred good at first. Not bad on Easter Sunday morning. Although … I think a good number did not appear. For the beginning, the Lentz Lentz’s age group had the fastest possibility after controlling our group in any hand in January, then MT Diablo Half. in NotI finished behind the Cliff, and also nearly 5 minutes behind Brian Sterling, from West Valley Club. Brian was second in Jarf in Diablo Mount Zion and Price Canyon At the end of this week. However, I didn’t expect a lot of points to be recorded this time. Although there was no mark on a cliff at the beginning …
I didn’t want to pay strongly before warm up, perhaps I was in 12 or 15 when we got to the individual track. Before the end of the first tendency though, I felt slowed by the Sunga line and 3 runners passed from Pamakids, and then acquired two young contestants in the foreground. This course is difficult because there is no flat section at all, and some sections are very slope. At least, this gluten has been involved and get a good exercise in preparation for Quicksilver.
I have seen the main contestants at the remote relief station, which I do not call “Turn Own Aid Station” because we still climb after that station to reach the transformation of half the marathon. She noticed a bag next to the brand, and certainly had bracelets to choose to prove that you ran along the way. I missed this details of the briefing, and I doubt a lot of observation. The lead consisted of three contestants from the same club: West Valley TC. Andrew Kataniz, who used to run with Quicksilver two years ago, Emana Wijnhurne, and Albert Lin, run together. There was a runner that seemed to be in our age group and I forgot to verify the color of his bomb, to see if it was in half or 30 thousand.
In climbing after the relief station, it was closed to two younger hostilities, which helped maintain a good pace. It took two other miles to pass them because we were really paying a pace in the slopes. Then I was able to see the largest hostility that I noticed in the transformation, and firmly closed it. There were 5 other miles after we went back to the start/completion area, a lot of time to pass it. Well, this was Ben Cortantang, 50, who ranked third in the first half in 1:50. The oldest men were representing, second in half was Darren Banks, 59!
I found a pair of very nice Sun Sun’s glasses in the session I gave at the relief station. I got my water bottle, and it’s time to get to the final ring, or out and return, especially because I knew that Brian was not too far. This made me run the full tendency before flying to the famous Horsesh Horse Lake. At the next ascending, at about 14.5 miles crossed Andrew. My GPS was offering 2:10, the time record time. I thought: “Shot, I am now two miles!” After Andrew, Amanda crossed and then Albert. After a few seconds, Jean Peptest Puffier was 29 years old. I was mentally preparing to climb at least another mile when I saw the spinning mark, much earlier than expected. I chose another bracelet from the bag and then rushed to the bottom of the hill to restore my way to the horse lake. Brian definitely was the first to see him: a safe margin but still, no time to waste!
In the last game, I crossed a few of the contestants, more than half of Pamakids: A representation method, go green! I finished with 2:32:45, with 17.58 miles on the global GPS system (Coros, in running trail). In this high field, good enough for the fifth number in general, the fourth in men, the first. Brian finished 6 minutes, this time: strong and friendly intercourse! With Brian:
Andrew won at 2:20:57, Amanda scored a new record at 2:23:50. From left to right, Andrew, Amanda, Albert:
I stayed for another hour and a half, for more links with the community, and I felt sorry to leave before everyone returned to the house, but he had other Easter activities to attend today. Some reasonable hill training today, a little heat training yet Running at frozen temperatures two weeks agoIt is good to return to some speed. My knee tells me that the arthropod of cartilage is still affected, but it is more whisper, allowing me to race more difficult, and that I do not outperform it in my training. It is great to see the participation of the Pacific Ocean Association and Competition today, I see you in 3 weeks at our club’s super -100K party!
