About Sci

The Chemical Industry Association (SCI), a registered charity, is an international forum in which science meets. The main charitable goal in SCI is established in 1881 is to accelerate science from the laboratory to address the main societal challenges facing society today. SCI does this by facilitating open innovation, identifying and strengthening the technologies emerging in the fields of climate, health, health and wellness, and providing support to the next generation of scientists and engineers. SCI runs more than 50 concepts and modernists every year and has a set of publishing and grant activities.

Today, there are members in more than 70 countries, with more than 900 companies and many academic institutions represented in our network.

Role

Submit reports to the publisher (magazines), magazine development editor will be responsible for supporting the development of the Sci Magazine portfolio. Using a data -based approach to determine opportunities to increase growth, quality and influence for many prestigious magazines.

An important part of the role is to strengthen cooperative work relations with editorial councils, industry experts and publishing partner (WILEY) to successfully implement strategic development plans. The main responsibilities include the mandate of high -quality content in a proactive manner and objective issues, building and sponsoring high -performance editing panels and working closely with editing and assigning teams to ensure the achievement of goals.

Additional responsibilities include working closely with marketing and events teams to ensure a strong reputation, clarity and impact of Sci magazines in the sophisticated and competitive rapid and competitive publishing scene.

Candidates must have a relevant scientific degree (such as chemistry, medical chemistry, biology, biochemistry and horticultural science) and must be able to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and providing plans to develop liability magazines by developing strategic magazines.
  • Management of responsibility magazines for overcoming/achieving goals and goals under the supervision of the publisher.
  • Building high -performance editing panels and working closely with them to identify and provide strategic needs for each individual magazine.
  • Development and implementation of strategies to increase quality and reputation through the construction of the martyrdom and the importance of the published content.
  • Assigning special issues in a proactive and other content, building a network of communications, working with editorial councils and magazine development team to build and provide assignment plans.
  • Manage the article pipeline, and work closely with the WILEY editing and production teams to ensure the achievement of publishing goals and agreed service levels.
  • Building, maintaining and exchanging knowledge of the opponent’s activity and market trends to inform decisions related to the development of magazines.
  • Attending scientific conferences and other external events to upload a SciS file, create networks and increase the market understanding.
  • Contributing to the Scissi mission to become a leading promoter of open search by developing and sharing best practices about successful publishing to open with the team.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure the promotion of responsibility magazines through all relevant channels.
  • Work in cooperation with other teams via Sci when opportunities arise to increase awareness and influence.
  • Make any other duties and projects at the request of the Calligraphy Manager

Experience and features

  • A relevant scientific degree.
  • Ideally at least two years working on the STM magazine menu.
  • Open access experience.
  • Communication skills between people and advanced communications, and the concentration of strong customers.
  • Knowledge installed by the publishing and relevant issues.
  • Excellent time management skills: It should show the ability to work on tight final dates and set the work of work burden.
  • A strong team player can also work independently and confident.
  • Tact and diplomacy.
  • Experience and apply an insight into data on requests, use and categories.
