Director of Conference Office at Cambridge University

Madingley Hall and Gardens, a historical place and the Prime Minister’s conference, is seeking to obtain an ambitious and outstanding conference director of sales to lead our conference sales process. This pivotal role will be the commercial success of our business in the field of events, as it leads more than 4 million pounds in annual revenue while providing exceptional customer experiences.

About the role

As part of the senior management team and submit reports directly to the general manager of the hall, you will lead a custom sales team and work cooperatively through the departments to ensure the delivery of smooth events. This is a practical leadership position that requires a balance between strategic vision, commercial acumen, and operational excellence.

Your mission: attracting new customers, enhancing current relationships, and constantly overcoming revenue goals, all with supporting the exceptional service standards that Madingley Hall is famous.

Main responsibilities

  • Revenue leadership: Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve or exceed the goals of reserving conferences and event in about 4 million pounds annually.
  • Customer acquisition and preservation: the possibility of new works, inquiries management, site visits, and construction of strong and durable customer relationships.
  • Team leadership: Management, training and inspiration for interactive conference sales team, as well as marketing and administrative support.
  • Operating Excellence: Supervising the planning of events from the initial investigation to the follow -up of the post -event, ensuring a smooth delivery of operations.
  • Commercial management: leadership budget, prediction, pricing, contract negotiations, and financial reports to provide profitability.
  • Marketing and promotion: Cooperation with marketing to design and present campaigns, including digital, social and traditional channels.
  • System improvement: Maintaining and improving CRM management systems and property science to support efficiency and make data based on.
  • Customer Relationship Program: Implementing and presenting Account Management Strategies to key and potential customers.

About you

We are looking for a commercial smart leader with:

  • Experience installed in conference sales and events, preferably within the place of hospitality or heritage.
  • A proven record that exceeds the goals of revenue and developing successful sales strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and the capabilities of building relationships.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with experience in budget mode, prediction and reporting.
  • A approach focuses on the customer and a passion for providing a distinguished service.
