The main purpose of the job

Power duties
The Maryland State Workers’ Compensation Committee is currently seeking a translator of active and multi -use contractual sessions. The main purpose of this position is to provide the Spanish language interpretation services for the non -English -speaking demands in the first place in the hearings in front of the Maryland State Workers’ Compensation Committee. The employee in this position will be asked to travel to various sites to attend these listening sessions. Oral translation services in biological documents may also require a workers compensation committee from English to Spanish to demand an unprecedented English.
The minimum qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited secondary school or possession of a high school equation certificate.
Experience: Three years of experience in providing official interpretation services and translation between English and the second language. Official interpretation services may include documented work as a volunteer translator for a non -profit institution, humanitarian service or a religious organization.
Notes:
1. Candidates can replace courses from an accredited college or university, on an annual basis, for a period of up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates can replace additional experience in interpretation and translation between the English language and the second language of the required education.
3. Candidates can replace military service experience in the US Armed Forces as a non -detailed officer in the translator/translator classification or symbols of the translator/translator in the field of work abroad on an annual basis for the required experience.
Selective qualifications
Experience must be for one year in providing official interpretation and translation services between English and Spanish
One year experience in providing interpretation services in a legal environment or an environment.

The contractors who work in an agency covered under the state employee program and the health and luxury advantages program for retirees may be a current employment contract and work 30 hours or more per week (or on average 130 hours per month) qualified to obtain coverage of health benefits supported by themselves.
