King Foundation

The King Foundation is a charitable institution founded by King Charles III and was first formed in 1990. It is inspired by the vision and values ​​of His Majesty, and the Foundation focuses on creating better societies where people, places and planet can coexist in harmony.

The Charitable Society offers educational courses for more than 15,000 students annually, health and luxury programs for about 2000 people every year, and heating projects to identify places in the United Kingdom and abroad to revitalize historical societies and buildings.

The headquarters of the King Foundation is located in the main renewal project, Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, and works as a shoe for other historical royal sites including the Castle of Meithness, Scotland and Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire, which is open to visitors. The Foundation also carries out its works in the educational and cultural centers in London, based at the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in Shoredch and Trinity Buoy when on the River Thames and Garrison Chapel in Chelsea.

Role:

The King Foundation seeks an exceptional researcher early to lead its academic activities in renewal agriculture and agricultural transformations. This new publication is designed to provide a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of academic research and agricultural policy, and to develop and spread new knowledge of farmers ’networks in the United Kingdom.

The Foundation runs the Macroberts Center for Agriculture and Rural in the Dumfries House Estate in Ayrshire, Scotland. The Macroberts Center has strong links with farms and schools in the local region, and works as a center for education and discussing agricultural issues within the broader border area.

The primary focus of this role is on developing, disposing and publishing a pilot research project that works with partner farmers to find paths that go through a transitional stage to renewal agriculture. The research will focus on working with six partner farms on distinct aspects of agricultural transition, with the aim of developing the knowledge group as a model for the United Kingdom and internationally. This will build the network and the results developed in a workshop series that combines farmers, researchers and professionals in the industry to discuss the transition to renewal agriculture.

The role will be essential in developing research in renewal agriculture in the King Foundation. The candidate will attend their research interests and experiences, and include research in the project at all stages. The main product will be to publish the project results through the current channels (such as the ongoing workshop chain) as well as the new channels, which the candidate will have an active role in growth and formation. The role will also include working within the academic team of the King’s Foundation to help direct a doctoral project and create partnerships with universities and other foreign organizations. This will include work with visiting researchers on neighboring topics, including traditional crafts and sustainable textiles.

Main tasks

• Driving and creating a new demo project that works with partner farms.
• Developing and conducting an individual research project in the wider experimental project.
• Design research projects with universities and current and new partner institutions.
• Production of high -quality academic outputs and contributing to grant requests.
• Contribute to the broader research and publishing program.

Events, publishing and community participation

• Leadership of planning and presenting academic and public events, including conferences, seminars, workshops and seminars.
• Translation of research into accessible formats for non -academic masses, which may include:
  • Organizing and supporting community participation initiatives.
  • The Foundation represents the relevant academic, industrial and societal events.

Knowledge sharing and learning presentation

• Supervising doctoral students for cooperative programs when necessary.
• Supporting the development and provision of learning opportunities such as community workshops, training training courses, short courses and summer schools, and master’s teaching when necessary.
• Contributing to building local capabilities by sharing knowledge in practical and attractive ways, and supporting the broader society’s understanding of the renewed agricultural topics.
