Description
Frontier Therapics Ltd, in partnership with York University, is looking for a graduate of relevant electrical engineering skills that will be able to design, develop and produce a radio frequency medical device to support wound care that is difficult to wear. Chronic wounds, such as sugary foot ulcers, impose a great burden on NHS, at a cost of 8.3 billion pounds annually, and strongly affect the quality of life.
Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is an exciting and rare opportunity that combines knowledge of the design of medical devices, electronics and plasma science to provide an initial device. By working in synergy with a second KTP participant with experience in microbiology, you will evaluate the advanced device to show its effectiveness, safety and benefits to patients.
Frontier Medical Group is a pioneer in the market for a group of specialized medical devices for UK and international healthcare professionals.

As a participant in KTP, you will lead this prominent and self -meaningful project, allowing you to apply your academic achievements in an industrial environment. You are expected to have confidence and ability to manage your work burdens to ensure outputs. You will receive practical and official training, acquire marketable skills, expand your knowledge and experience in an industrial related project, and are supported by industrial and academic mentors. It will work closely with the second colleague and face a shared responsibility for dealing with new knowledge and its inclusion in both the commercial partner and universities.
The necessary skills, experience and qualifications
• MENG, MPHYS, MSC or PHD in electricity/electronics engineering or plasma science.
- Knowledge and experience in developing radio frequency circles operating in the HF range.
- Hands on Experience in the design, construction and testing of electrical circuits; Specifically, RF electronics are at moderate energy levels.
- Knowledge and experience in its control, control system design, and sensor integration.
- Knowledge and experience of plasma generation devices and diagnostic methods.

This is a full -time role for a specific period of time for 34 months. It is expected that it will start no later than 2025 September, and its headquarters will be at its headquarters at the company’s partner’s headquarters in Cardiff.
There is an interview in two phases, held on different dates with a personal interview in the Frontier Medical Group group in Cardiff.
