PhD researcher in sustainable renewable energy engineering, modeling and improvement

Ministry of Energy and Mechanical Engineering It is a society that includes about 300 employees – including 30 professors of the Palmeen Path – their assembly for research, education, creation and development of solutions to meet the needs of society. The main research fields include marine technology and northern pole. Energy techniques and systems; Mechanical and mechanic systems; And materials, manufacturing and product development. We are now looking for a doctoral researcher to study the development of sustainable hydrogen valleys. The four -year project is fully funded by the Research Council in Finland. Work can start immediately.

Your role and goals
Your main goal is to develop a simulation and improvement model for the Great Hydrogen Valley that works outside the network (with an option to connect the network). At outputs, the model must give sustainable and sustainable capabilities to the components of the system (wind power plants, electricity -dissolved, P2X plants, databases, Power H2 transportation system, carbon dioxide and heat, energy store, etc.) and their optimal locations. Our goal is to increase the sustainable production capabilities of green hydrogen and electronic defense within the studied area. The model needs to consider the contrast of weather conditions and change the prices of electricity and the heat of the boycott. The solution is restricted due to the loss of biological diversity, social acceptance, and cultural borders conditions, which are defined with the research team for energy engineers, sociologists, environmental scientists and landscape engineers. Our final research question is: What is the amount of green and electronic hydrogen that can be produced at a sustainable level within a specific area, and do we still have a competitive selling price for products?

As part of the doctoral researchers, you will also gain experience in teaching and supervising master’s students. Your thesis consists of 3 research articles on peers.

Your network and team
It will work in the Energy and Systems Transfer Research set. We are a big team and active from 120 people and 10 professors. You are supervising Professor Mika Yafinin. You will closely cooperate with other team researchers. In the research project, you should be able to communicate with researchers from different specialties, including the environment, social sciences and architects of landscapes. In addition, you need to cooperate and work with our stakeholders that include one planet (KARI & Pantzar), Hydrogen 2 Balticseah2 and representatives of the North-Orstrobothnia and Kainuu study areas in Finland.

Your experience and aspirations
We are looking for an emotional and open person with:

• Master’s degree in energy technology, sports programming (for example, biton), modeling, and improvement.
• Experience in analyzing geographical information is an advantage.
• The ability to work independently.
• Excellent display skills.
• Lack of the English language is essential.
