Obsenous Homelands (IHL) supports community members from the first nations to be able to return to their homelands and prosperity with ways to honor their social, cultural and environmental well -being. Specific duties and responsibilities

• With the support of the IHL team, the economic design of the cost/values ​​integration framework, which explores the balance between economic, social, environmental and cultural values ​​when determining the priorities of competing projects;
• With the support of the IHL team, it leads economic development for a comprehensive analysis of Root project (Circular Economic Supply Series Network), with regard to local sources against raw materials and supplies; This analysis should not only be seen in economic factors, but also in cultural, environmental and social implications as well;
• With the support of the IHL team, design and experimenting with the economic development aspect of our original housing compensation project. This will include the creation of a template with the “Citizen Science” approach so that the leaders of the Nations Society throughout Canada can provide and interpret local data;
• Create a stereotype of the housing and original housing group on basic financial affairs, to support community members in a better understanding of financial resources in relation to their rights to housing and land rights;
• Supporting our partner societies to analyze the best financial sustainability for their projects in addition to values ​​and other lenses, including cultural, social and environmental well -being;

Skills and qualifications

• More than 7 years experience and training in economics or a related field
• Master’s degree in economics or relevant field, or a rewarding life experience
• A high level of understanding in financial literacy and the financial management of projects; Comfortable with scenario modeling
• Understanding political economy and engaging in the application of a variety of innovative economic systems and curricula for our work, including the place -based trade, circular economies, as well as local supply chain networks

The balance between work, life and luxury

Ecotrust Canada performs a 32 -hour working week for 4 days for full -time employees (from two to Thursday), with flexibility to meet employee needs. Because of the part -time nature of this position, this role will work on Monday, in addition to another (days) of 20 hours. There will be exceptions throughout the year to travel to partner societies (about 3-5 times a year for this position), which will include work/travel at evenings and weekend holidays. We give priority to societal visits, the needs of our society partners, their seasonal wheels (i.e. harvest seasons, festivals, etc.), and the final dates of our project.
