About the role

We invite requests to fill the post of three -year post -PhD research in applied mathematics, and works with Professor Tim Rogers in the Department of Sports Science at Bath University.

The situation was created to enhance networks and group behavior research group led by Professor Tim Rogers, head of the next department. The role provides an exciting and flexible opportunity for the confident researcher early to contribute to the current research lines within the group and start new projects in cooperation with Professor Rogers. You will be able to make leading contributions to a variety of research trends, to build a new multidisciplinary cooperation to spread and publish results.

About networks and group behavior research group

The successful candidate will join an active research group focusing on developing and applying sports methods on complex systems, especially focusing on networks, random and sports biology. Group members work on a variety of topics of environment, development, epidemic science, and even animal and human behaviors. We develop and analyze mathematical models (both simulations and theoretical studies) and often work to cooperate with experimental scientists. Sports technologies published in the network theory, dynamic systems, random processes and random matrix theory.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and conscience researcher who appreciates the opportunity to start new cooperation and start developing their research program leadership. The perfect candidate will have qualifications and the following features:

  • Doctorate degree in mathematics, theoretical physics or discipline is closely related (or is expected to be granted soon).
  • A strong background in applied mathematics and analytical techniques.
  • The ability to conduct independent research showed.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • The experience of multidisciplinary cooperation.
  • Infintering with numerical methods or programming (for example in Matlab).
  • A busy record of publications in high -quality magazines.

This is a full -time date position with the expected end date in October 2028.

As a member of research staff at Bath University, you will be encouraged to obtain at least 10 days for professional professional development annually “

A lower degree offer (grade 6) may be made with a similar decrease in responsibilities and modification in the job title for the search assistant, if a suitable applicant cannot be found to fill the seventh grade position. The applicants will need to be within six months of the date of completion of the training course and will be promoted to a researcher once a doctorate is awarded.
