The primary purpose of organizational unity

The purpose of the waste and recycling office is to enhance zero waste initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling, fertilization and reuse in all university operations, departments and buildings. Owrr It exists to provide education and assembly services and support the university because it strives to become a zero -waste community and maximize material recovery as defined by the Solid Waste Management Law (SB111), subsequent executive orders, local regulations and best preferred management practices. Summary of the situation
The Director of Sustainability Facilities Operations provides leadership for sustainability programs and initiatives in the Department of Utilities Services as well as the campus community. The situation also works as director of the waste reduction and recycling office (OwrrIt provides the leadership and management of waste transport and zero waste strategies to the unity and campus community as a whole. The director seeks to put the university as a leader in sustainability, waste of waste, programs and solid waste strategies through innovation and cooperation. This situation develops and runs multiple programs at one time, including comprehensive environmental programs, sustainable construction, proper maintenance practices in terms of environmental, effective transport, waste reduction, recycling, organic fertilizer, reuse, green chemical use, and communication. Programs and services are provided for academic, administrative and research departments and units that support campus activities including housing, dining and entertainment on campus, athletics, energy services, transportation and parking lots.

Duties include supervision, leadership and guidance for all Owrr Programs and Operations, Waste Management Coordination, Education, Brand of Programs, and Conduct Change; And managing the expansion of the program, development and budget opportunities. This position will develop new and innovative ideas and programs to increase sustainable operations, transfer waste, participation, and create a vision and a plan for the future program needs. This position directly supports the Carolina Sustainable Initiative and the Consultative Group for Solid Waste in Orange County (elected officials), and it works as a major resource on the campus on issues of sustaining university facilities operations. This work includes the coordination of the development and implementation of the practices of comprehensive sustainability management, recycling, fertilization, communication and preventive maintenance through the development of partnerships and program strategies with employees, students, employees, employees and society. The situation will cooperate with other campus units to define software and operational development goals, ensure compliance, movement towards zero waste, and sustainable construction.

This situation will also provide interactive training in sustainability programs for all branches of utilities. This includes training for 24 home management area (370 employees), nine land conservation areas (77 employees), and construction service stores (217 employees). The situation will be responsible for training operations on user facilities in waste transfer, zero waste strategies, waste reduction, recycling, fertilization, and green chemical use.

The minimum education and expertise requirements

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in the field of task, which at least one is supervision or in the ability of the main factor; Or an equivalent mix of training and experience. All grades of adopted institutions should be received appropriately.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

Favorite qualifications, competencies and experience
Graduate work in the field of sustainability, work and important experiences in environmental studies, environmental sciences, communications, biology, environment, architecture, planning, business, economics, public health, public policy or relevant field. LED Green colleagues (GA) or the ability to secure accreditation within six (6) months of leasing.

ISSP – The International Association for Vocational Accreditation for Sustainability or the ability to secure accreditation within six (6) months of employment.

Experience with the design of the waste management program, operations and implementation specifically with recycling and fertilizer programs at a university or group group.

The ability to read architectural construction documents and planning sustainable construction operations.

Participate in local, regional or national organizations for solid waste industry institutions or desired exercises.

Favorite vocational training: Appa institute, Swanna Training (compost, C&D, recycling, awareness, compost), training on recycling organization, or natural resource leadership institute, or its equivalent and training training.

Infintering with the tracking, evaluation and classification system (StarsThe self -reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure its sustainability performance, or the ability to understand and communicate with Carolina’s sustainable Carolina program.

Physical/special mental requirements

The ability to transfer things up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Although the majority of this situation will not lead to physical work, there are times when this position will need to transport the boxes, wrap the full vehicles for short distances, transfer awareness funds or other types of supplies, and transfer the elements. There may be times in which this position will help download truck supplies and in buildings for events or site settings.
