the Medical Research Council She recently funded a four -year -old dust study of 1.5 million pounds, and she is studying the effect of electronic cigarettes on immune and epithelial cells within the lungs of smokers who are trying to quit electronic cigarettes.
Smoking is the main cause of preventive death around the world, and a risk factor for many diseases. With the aging of the population, the deep economic and health burden of smoking -related diseases continues. Electronic cigarettes are a tool to quit effective and wonderful smoking, but the long -term effects of Vaping are still unconfirmed. Short -term exposure studies have shown harmful effects of e -cigarette on functional function of fungal immune cells (neutrophils, al -Shamiliya), indicating potential damage to chronic exposure.
This project aims to address this knowledge gap by employing a group of healthy smokers who aim to quit smoking using electronic cigarettes, provide important data needed to determine safety, inform personal choice, general discussion and politics. The study of this longitudinal soil will evaluate the accumulation of toxins in the airways, and changes in the functions of the epithelial and fungal immune cells while quitting smoking, by combining a multi -miles approach with the functions of the complete cell and the completion of the changes in the respiratory microbium.
Main duties

- The previous body analysis of the immune cells isolated from blood samples or bronchi – phenotypes, functional and molecular biological stimulants.
- Publishing research results in the form of publications and in research episodes

Person specifications
- The first degree in the field of specialization (life sciences) and Doctorate degree (or near completion) related to the field of research (immunology).
- Experience in measuring flow and/or microscope fluorescent
- A high level of analytical ability, especially in understanding and analyzing large data groups such as relative, protein or representative data groups.
- An experiment in isolating immune cells, cell culture, metabolic tests, ELISA, RNA, DNA insulation, western nesting and measuring cellular flow is necessary.
- Experience in working with clinical samples.
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Fluted in models, techniques or related methods and the ability to contribute to developing new models. In general, this will include methods based on cellular flow, metabolic tests, and the analysis and interpretation of omics data collections.
