I was invited to participate in the Saint Kazavier University University’s work committee with James Miller (who coordinated the event), Lauren Milijan, Nathan Beck, and Dr. Vincent Alexander Davis. Nearly 30-40 students attended and asked questions in areas such as CVs, professional changes, job fraud, networks, and other relevant topics listed below.

Labor market trends (2024 against 2014)
The labor market is now more fragmented by industry, with different opportunities across different fields.
Technology and health care allow “direct employment” (occupying multiple high -wage functions).
Awareness of fatigue and mental health has increased since the epidemic.
The novice jobs in challenging are increasingly found due to automation and AI, with a more focus on internal training.
The importance of soft networks and skills
– Soft skills (communication, teamwork, ability to adapt) necessary and less common in distance/technology today.
Networks is crucial to finding jobs and gaining insight into various industries.
Maintaining positive professional relationships is essential to emerge.
Information interviews (short conversations with professionals) help collect professional visions and expand your network.

Safety search for a job and avoid fraud
Job fraud now is advanced: fraudsters may create realistic sites or impersonation of real employees.
Never pay the request fees or purchase of equipment for a job.
– Check the identities of the recruitment via LinkedIn and search for reverse images.
– Try to FTC, BBB, or state prosecutor.
Interview strategies and questions
Always look for the company before the interview; Avoid asking questions with answers easily found.
– Ask about the factors that contribute to a person’s success beyond describing his job.
Inquire about the culture of the workplace and organizational suitability.
– Request a tour if it is a personal interview to measure the environment and stand out.
Securing and increasing internal training
Priority is given for paid internal exercises; Those unpaids are inhibited due to stock fears.
During internal training, it is expected to ask questions and learn – Learn what you learn and avoid asking the same questions over and over again.
– Use resources such as Glassdoor to see the company, but give priority to direct conversations with current employees (information interviews).
– Volunteering or working in the project for organizations (such as trade rooms or non -profit organizations) can build experience and networks.
Work abroad
Look carefully about the job and the culture of the country before moving.
