What will you do?

As an environmental crime officer, you will bring your passion for enforcement and experience in investigations or regulations to a role that improves environmental results directly.

By working under the supervision of a senior environmental crime officer, it will collect and analyze evidence, build strong case files, and support a high -level enforcement activity. You will be part of a committed team that helps raise standards and push long -term improvements through the water industry.

In this role, it will support the provision of effective enforcement procedures against unacceptable water companies. It will focus on dangerous and complex violations, and often works with external partners and internal colleagues to secure positive environmental results.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the site inspection and investigations to determine environmental crimes.
  • Collecting and analyzing evidence, including data and materials from inspections.
  • Write witness data and conduct interviews under caution with the suspects.
  • View evidence and preparation of high -quality cases in line with legal requirements.
  • Complete training in regulating the water industry and related enforcement procedures.
  • Communicate with other enforcement agencies and local authorities.
  • Providing evidence in court when necessary.

You will be primarily in the office, while traveling through your regional center to support active investigations and enforcement activity. Travel and residences overnight are part of this role, so the full driving license in the UK is necessary.

You will be recruited in a specific area with a custom office base, but flexibility is important – it may be required to work with teams in other sites or adapt to changing priorities across different fields.

What do you need?

To achieve success in this role, you will need to be methodological, observation and confidence in dealing with difficult situations. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team will appear.

necessary:

  • Experience in the role of investigation or organizational, including collecting evidence and preparing status files.
  • The experience of working with customers or external stakeholders.
  • UK full driving license.

desirable:

  • Understanding environmental legislation, especially the law of environmental permits regulations and the environmental law.
  • Knowing the investigation legislation such as the police law, criminal evidence, the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Law.
  • Corporate investigations experience.
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external partners.
