STEMMA: Systems Transfer Systems Verse of Modern Modern Manuscripts, 1475-1700

Applications are invited from the appropriately qualified candidates to fully fill in the fixed-term position as a post-doctoral researcher for the “STEMA: StemA: Systems of Transferring Ayat Modern Modern Manuscript, 1475-1700”, at Galwai University, Ireland. This position is funded by the European Research Council grant granted to Professor Erine McCarthy, which is available for twenty -four months as of January 5, 2026.

The successful candidate will focus on Work package 2, ‘Early communication poems of modern manuscripts. This work package tracks the transmission of John’s poems within societies and between them and outside them traditionally related to the trading of the verse of the manuscript. The first few months of the contract will focus mainly on preparing data and reconciliation. The researcher will then develop new hypotheses on women’s roles as well as non -elite, non -Urban, non -English and multi -language persons in the transmission of the English manuscript vest in international archives.

Duties:

• Preparing data for the virtual search environment online
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of data and results
• Archive Research on the main groups of various manuscripts held in libraries internationally
• Preparing the papers for viewing and publishing
• Contribute to the project site
• Associated administrative duties
• Any other duties dedicated to the proportion of this level of the post

Qualifications/skills required:

Basic requirements:

• Doctorate in early modern English or another relevant field
• The experience of working with databases
• Experience in the culture of early manuscripts
• Great experience in archive and historical research
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Record the post that the peers reviewed
• The ability to work well cooperatively and independently
• With high motives, with excellent organizational skills

Desired requirements:

• Searching in early modern English poetry specializes
• Experience with human and/or computational research
• Experience with network analysis
• Knowing one or more of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish
• Excellent IT skills
