About this role

The purchasing service team is part of the professional service for finance, real estate and commercial services. Contributing to the University 2030 people, purpose, place strategy, we recently changed our approach to purchases, and thus we are now focusing on categories management to ensure the alignment of providing our services with the university’s strategy. We look forward to appointing a new team to support the main pillars of the activity, which covers real estate/ commercial services and business services/ IT. This role will be in line with one of the pillars that achieve goals to support the 2030 strategy. In addition, the role will also bear the responsibility of the purpose or strategy in our strategic purchasing plan. This is an exciting opportunity as it will bring your knowledge and experience to help us transfer purchases while developing and reviewing categories plans.

The purchasing team is responsible for About about 100 pounds – 120 million pounds, unpaid expenses (EXC. Capital) throughout the university. This post will contribute to making the purchasing team an integrated strategic function throughout the university, to provide value in exchange for the results of the funds for both capital and revenues expenditures, as well as sustainability and equality initiatives. About you

We are looking for an individual with self -motivation and very organized to implement the activities of categories and purchases management. Communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs, ensuring their purchase, identifying roads to the market, identifying suppliers, tender management, performance monitoring and ensuring legal compliance – all of them are an integral part of this interesting, varied and vital role.

You will be responsible for a wide range of purchasing activities and category management. This will include categories management, developing tender plans, and managing the tender to one side, including managing relationships between contracts and managing suppliers. The role requires a widespread understanding of public sector resources arrangements. The experience of public purchasing rules will be an advantage

You will be taught at the level of the certificate or its equivalent, and you will be a member of the Institute for the purchase and display charter. Experienced in complex purchases, working with many stakeholders in detailed organizational structures, will be decisive and focus on priorities, and move goals and ability to manage competing demands effectively for your time.
