This Posiiton contributes to the daily operation of the acquisition services unit in the Michigan Archive Department. Specifically, the position of the archive of digital acquisition services with state agencies, local governments and donors from the private sector will continue to determine public records/evaluation, join, join historical records/historical records and facilitate access to public records. This position is responsible for writing and operating text programs to assemble digital records to seize the Provervica preservation system. Archivist for digital acquisitions also works with Collection Services Digital Acitalivist to maintain system problems, explore, repair and solve errors in Provica. This position works on a team to implement and deport to the ArchivesPace group management system. The digital acquisition archive also participates in field work projects, provides reference services to the public, and works in cross archive teams. This position requires introduced technical skills, knowledge of digital conservation, and understanding of the archives and the life cycle.
Hold a master’s degree in library/information or archive management. Experience in an institutional archive required.
About the archives of Michigan
Michigan’s archives are part of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget in Michigan State (DTMB) and serves the governments of Michigan and the public. Michigan’s archives were established in 1913 as a function of the historical committee of the state (Public Law 271 of 1913) and is still working as an official warehouse of state for state records and local government in Michigan. Michigan’s archives are responsible for identifying public records and their permanent preservation that documents major governmental and cultural activities. The archives maintain the records of the government, the local government and the private groups in many guaranteed storage facilities and the environment in the center of Lansing, and Michigan’s archives were early in the digital conservation system, and to maintain digital government records in the state since 2013.
