Who will you work with?

SecureX Core Threat Intelligence API Services Team

The SecureX Core API Services team develops APIs to integrate threat intelligence data and services offered by Cisco’s product family. We define the Cisco Threat Intelligence Model that enables our products to share and publish data in a unified model. On top of this model, we are developing APIs that provide protocols for securely exchanging and standardizing threat intelligence data. The API Services team leverages the power of cybersecurity, privacy and identity management data to its full potential as an actionable threat knowledge base.

What will you do?

The API Services team defines the future of our data platform and integrated security architecture. The team is building a threat intelligence API server that integrates all Cisco security products and third-party data. Together, we will improve the lives of Cisco Security customers as they seamlessly ingest and query threat intelligence data using a unified model.

As an API Services Software Engineer, you will implement new features and take them through the software development process, from prototyping, coding, and debugging to shipping and communicating with all Cisco Security teams. You will be at the heart of Cisco security and need a strong appetite for components of product quality documentation, testing, code reviews, and teamwork.

Who are you

  • Recent production experience with Clojure
  • Develop familiarity with Unix/Linux-based systems
  • Strong programming, debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of web protocols and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken; A collaborative engineer who enjoys working with a team
  • Dedication and willingness to own the features from start to finish
  • Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, with proven software engineering experience, preferably in functional programming.

Bonus/nice to have

  • Background or training in information security (SANS, NICCS, STIX, etc.)
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka and Redis
  • Experience or passion for functional programming
  • Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
