Research Assistant/Associate in Head-mounted Wearable Sensors (fixed term) at the University of Cambridge

Fixed Term: Funds for this position are available for two years, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the general area of ​​wearable ear and head sensing systems, wearable signal processing and machine learning data sensing to join the Mobile Systems Research Laboratory at the University of Cambridge.

The main responsibilities of this position are to innovate in the field of head wearable sensing, devise new machine learning models to perform powerful real-world analytics targeting health and fitness applications with a special focus on translating research into practice. We are looking for candidates with a background in wearable sensing and (bio)sensing systems, and possibly with experience in advanced machine learning of wearable sensing data.

Candidates should have a PhD and a strong publication record in wearable sensing systems with a specific focus on the head. Experience in machine learning modeling of existing sensor data is also highly appreciated. Ideal candidates should also have excellent programming skills. Good communication, presentation and management skills are also desirable given the size of the team. Experience in industry and industrial research is also welcome.

Appointment to the Research Associate level is based on the attainment of a doctoral degree. Those who have applied but have not yet received a doctorate will be appointed at the research assistant level, which will be modified to research associate once the doctorate is awarded.
