Eligibility criteria

• Candidates who have passed the required engineering degree course or are in the final year of the engineering degree course are eligible to apply.
• Candidates studying in the final year of an engineering degree course must be able to submit proof of passing the engineering degree examination along with mark sheets for all semesters/years by 01 July 2026 and produce an engineering degree certificate within 12 weeks of the commencement date of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA).
• Such candidates will be recruited on the basis of additional bond to recover the cost of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) as notified from time to time along with the salary, wages and allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.

Selection process

Short list of applications:

• The Department of Defense (Army) Integrated Headquarters reserves the right to shortlist applications based on the vacancy call-up ratio for each engineering specialty/track without assigning any reason.
• The cumulative percentage of marks up to 6th semester/3rd year of Engineering degree, up to 8th semester/4th year of Bachelor of Architecture (B.Eng) and up to 2nd semester/1st year of MSc in the equivalent stream/discipline notified is not less than the cut off percentage approved in their respective streams.
• After the final results are announced, the cumulative percentage of marks up to the final semester/year will also not be less than the approved percentage, otherwise the nomination will be cancelled.

Customize selection center

• After applications are shortlisted, the candidate will be informed of the position allotment via his email.
• After allotment of selection centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates which are available on first come first served basis initially.
• After that, they will be allocated by selection centers. The option of making SSB appointments may be forfeited by the candidates due to occurrence of any exceptional circumstance/events.

Join the Pre-Employment Training Academy (PCTA)

• Candidates recommended by SSB who are declared medically fit will be issued a joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to fulfillment of all eligibility criteria.

How to apply

• Applications will be accepted only online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
• Click on “Officer Apply/Log In” and then click on “Registration” (Registration is not required, if already registered on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
• Fill out the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully.
• After registering, click “Apply Online” under the Control Panel. The “Eligibility” officer selection page will open.
• Then click “Apply” which appears opposite the Technical Postgraduate Course. The Application Form page will open.
• Read the instructions carefully and click on “Continue” to fill in the details as required under different sectors – Personal Information, Contact Details, Education Details and Previous SSB Details.
• “Save and continue” each time before moving on to the next part. After filling in the details in the last part, you will be taken to the “Your Information Summary” page where you can check and edit the entries already made.
• Only after ensuring that your data is correct, click “Submit”.
• Candidates must click “Submit” every time they open the application to edit any details.
• Candidates are required to receive two copies of their application along with the registration number, 30 minutes after the final closing of the online application on the last day.
