We are looking for someone to oversee and be responsible for the delivery of the data ingest part of our business. This department is responsible for building and extending the connectors that the application uses to extract data for our customers, as well as updating our internal tools. Your role will be to ensure that the development process runs smoothly, and that developers have everything they need to deliver reliable and efficient code in an efficient manner. Your knowledge of data architecture will also help ensure that the proposed approach is the right one and will also help increase the knowledge of the team members.

This role will focus primarily on process, management and identifying the best approach/solution to deliver new functionality or improve flexibility. Although you may spend some of your time hacking into internal proofs of concept (POC) as part of the investigation, most of your time will be devoted to meetings, documentation, and reporting.

You will work closely with Product Managers and other heads in the technology department, including Solutions Architect, Devops Manager and CTO, so good communication skills are essential.

• Previous experience leading/managing a team
• Extensive data engineering experience – working knowledge of multiple APIs/databases, data discussion and best practices to ensure flexibility
• Polyglot has strong Clojure experience but will always choose the best solution regardless of the ecosystem
• Experience building/working with distributed systems
• Experience asynchronous and real-time data extracts
• Experience managing remote teams and applying best-in-class processes to ensure reliable delivery
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
