At Lockheed Martin Space, we are building the future of space operations by delivering secure, flexible and automated software solutions. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be a key contributor to mission systems that enhance space domain awareness and resiliency of satellites. You will apply modern DevSecOps practices to ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and optimized for rapid delivery.
What does this role look like?
Create and simulate operational-level plans to explore innovative ways to defend assets in contested space.
Improved ground and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive situational awareness.
Strategically models and maneuvers satellite constellations to meet evolving mission priorities.
Contribute to front-end and back-end development using Java and JavaScript.
Develop automated testing frameworks to ensure quality across unit, service level and end-to-end testing.
Leverage GitLab, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines in an automation-first environment where “everything is code.”
You will work closely with a collaborative team of engineers, and apply modern DevSecOps practices to deliver secure, reliable, and cutting-edge mission software.

Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance (SCI eligibility required).
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, or Containerd) in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or OpenShift).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Packer.
Experience working in Agile development environments using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Proficiency in using CI/CD tools and pipelines (GitLab, ArgoCD, automated build and deployment).
Development experience with Java or Python.
Required skills:
Remove active TS/SCI.
Recent experience as a technical lead, contributing to architecture, research and code quality standards.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) background, including automation, monitoring, incident response and system optimization.
Experience with Linux development and Shell Scripting (e.g., bash).
Familiarity with space domain operations and mission system concepts.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills in fast-paced environments.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, and you must be a US citizen to be considered.

Ability to work remotely: Full-Time On-Site: Work associated with this position will be performed on-site at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternative work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from a standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while other schedules may be condensed. These shortened schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office, in addition to the benefits of paid time off.

Payment rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington, DC is $93,200 – $164,450. For states not noted above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s eventual work location. Please note that salary information is for general guidance only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) job scope and responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations when making an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, EAP, educational assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. (Washington State applicants only) Unrepresented full-time employees: Are entitled to a minimum of 10 hours per month of paid time off (PTO) to be used for occasional absences and other reasons; Get at least 90 hours for vacation. Full-time representative employees receive 6.67 hours of vacation per month; Get up to 52 hours of sick leave per year; Have at least 96 hours for vacation. Work hours, holidays, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is eligible for the incentive plan.
